Quick Dusting Techniques 1 Use a feather duster. If your blinds have just a thin layer of dust, a feather duster will be sufficient to clean them. Open the blinds and run a feather duster between each blind, to pick up the dust on both sides. If you’re looking for a method that will let you clean in hard-to-reach corners, find an old sock or glove and put it on your hand. Spray Windex on a section of the blinds and run your covered hand along it to pick up the dust.

Swish it around in the soapy water and wring it out frequently as you work.

Plaswood Blinds Plaswood blind are low maintenance and easy to clean. It is a synthetic product made to look like wood making it less expensive. Available in 25 mm or 50 mm, smooth or embossed. Remove dust by regularly using a feather duster or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment. To dust, tilt the slats up, then down but not entirely closed to reach the entire top and bottom surfaces.

To vacuum, use the brush attachment tip, tilt slats as above. The chemicals used for diamond coating are eco friendly. Available in 25 mm and 50 mm. Replacement parts and slats are readily available and blinds can be restrung or serviced should the need arise. All basswood blinds come with a standard wooden valance to complete the overall appearance.

Place them inside the pencil marks you have made. There are two open sides to the bracket–one of them should face out towards you, while the other should face in towards the center of the window. The bracket door must face towards the inside of the room. Using your pencil, mark the spots where you will need to drill your pilot holes there should be two of them.

You should choose two diagonal holes to drill into so that your brackets are sturdier. Take the brackets away and hold up a level to the two holes are even. The brackets should be placed on the outside face of the window casing on both sides of the window. The brackets should be placed up against the inside top corner of each side of the window. Each bracket comes with two screws. Replace the bracket and drill your screws into place.

Valance clips are used to attach the head rail to the valance.

Outside mounted blinds cover up part of the frame and the mounting bracket holes will show if the brackets are removed at a later date. One compelling reason to go with outside mount is if the window frame is too shallow to accommodate the mounting brackets.
